Medical Benefits of Owning a Waterbed

Waterbeds have many medical benefits. The waterbed was, after all, already in use in the medical world before it becomes a commercial success on the open market.

Allergy Relief

Because dust and bacteria can't lodge in a sealed waterbed mattress and because a waterbed mattress is easy to clean, it is frequently used in the treatment of allergies and asthma. The vinyl mattress is impervious to dust mites. Dust mites thrive in a moist environment with high humidity. A person loses up to ½ liter of moisture every night, which is absorbed by a traditional mattress, and only a little of this moisture evaporates. This is the reason why a traditional mattress gets heavier year after year. This moisture build-up is not possible in a waterbed since the moisture cannot be absorbed by the water mattress, and the moisture absorbed by the bedsheets quickly evaporates due to the warmth of the waterbed.

Restorative REM (Rapid Eye Movement) Sleep

It has been proven that one falls asleep faster and achieves a deeper sleep on a waterbed. An uninterrupted night's sleep is generally considered one of the best medicines. The support, comfort, and warmth all contribute to better health and more relaxed air.

Arthritis Treatment

The gentle, even support and the warmth of a waterbed are beneficial for people who suffer arthritis, rheumatism, and certain back disorders.

Weightless Bedsore Relief

Through the use of waterbed, a person can prevent the formation of decubitus ulcers. Patients who have already formed ulcers can expect more rapid healing when switched to a waterbed mattress. This healing may be up to three times faster than without the use of it. The patient will also have the added benefits of improvement in sleep and general circulation.

Newborn Babies

Crib-sized water mattresses are recommended for the growth and development of newborn babies, especially those born prematurely. It has been clinically proven that placing a premature baby upon a water mattress reduces pressure points on the babies' soft bones and circulatory system, allowing them to grow more rapidly. Instances of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome are reduced as well.

Back Pain

If you suffer from back pain or lumbar pain, it is of crucial importance to have a bed that matches your body and your individual needs. Please Keep in mind that you spend around 1/3 of the day in bed, and never forget that your bed is an investment in your well-being - when you are asleep as well as when you are awake. A waterbed supports your entire body evenly and provides a unique kind of pressure relief that allows your body to relax and recover in an uncompromising way.

The original bed

The photo is shown the pressure which is over the entire body. The stress you take when you lay down on the bed. The head is 32 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch), the back and bottom are 80 PSI, the legs are 45 PSI, and the foot is 60 PSI.  That is the reason why you usually change the sleeping positions, feel tired when you wake up and caused scoliosis.

The waterbed

The spine will be straight because the waterbeds enable the pressure to be evenly out over the entire body surface. This results in a better nights sleep for you, especially if you are currently experiencing back problems.
